Performing With Vybz Kartel Feels Like Winning Grammy – Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has funkily described sharing the stage with Jamaican music legend Vybz Kartel as equivalent to winning the Grammies. Speaking to JoyNews after his return from Jamaica, Shatta Wale said, “This is a dream come true for me and Shatta Movement fans.

Vybz Kartel’s endorsement means the world to my career, he’s a global icon, and performing with him is my greatest achievement.” Shatta Wale also stated that “everyone knows my journey as a dancehall musician, and performing with a prominent figure like Vybz Kartel, is a dream come true. Don’t expect me to take it low”.

Shatta Wale was the only Ghanaian artist at the star-studded Freedom Street concert on December 31, 2024, held at Kingston’s National Stadium.

The historic event marked Vybz Kartel’s first live show in 14 years and featured international acts like Skillibeng, Popcaan, Busta Rhymes, and Spice. For Shatta, the moment was more than a performance it was a career milestone.
