Stonebwoy has stepped into the ongoing PSquare family saga, and he’s made it clear where he stands. Speaking on the Fresh Off The Boat Podcast, the Ghanaian dancehall star threw his full support behind Nigerian singer Mr P (Peter Okoye), saying he believes the singer’s account of what he’s been through.
According to Stonebwoy, his close personal relationship with Mr P meant he’d already heard the story directly from him, long before it became public knowledge. He explained that Mr P opened up to him about his struggles during the difficult period of the family dispute, the fallout that has strained relationships between Peter, his twin brother Paul (known as Rudeboy), and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
Stonebwoy was upfront that he’s only heard one side of the story. Still, he said the way Mr P narrated his experience was enough to convince him. For Stonebwoy, it wasn’t about Mr P trying to tear anyone down, he came away with the sense that Mr P wasn’t interested in damaging anyone’s image, just sharing what he’d genuinely lived through.

The PSquare fallout has played out publicly for a while now, with Peter and Paul each offering their own version of how the once-inseparable duo’s relationship broke down, and fans across Africa picking sides ever since. Stonebwoy’s comments add a new, personal layer to the story, not as an outsider weighing in on gossip, but as someone who says he was let into the situation early, as a friend.
Whether or not it moves the needle on the wider PSquare conversation, it’s a strong show of solidarity from one Afrobeats heavyweight to another, 1Gad with the support, indeed.
