Nigerian music icon Mr. P has called on Ghanaians to throw stronger support behind their homegrown artistes, stressing that Nigeria’s music industry grew because locals stood firmly behind their stars.

Speaking after his electrifying performance at Stonebwoy’s BHIM Festival, Mr. P openly showed support for Ghanaian musicians and encouraged them to boldly take their music beyond borders especially into Nigeria, and aim to fill major venues.

In an interview with JoyNews, he pointed out that Nigerian artistes consistently sell out shows in Ghana, and it would be inspiring to see Ghanaian acts achieve the same level of success on Nigerian soil. According to him, music should be about growth, culture, and impact, not unnecessary online arguments.

Mr. P also expressed concern that too much attention is given to social media banter instead of pushing the music itself. He urged fans and industry players to channel their energy into promoting artistes and building a healthier competitive space.

His remarks followed his earlier message at the BHIM Festival, where Stonebwoy marked 10 years of musical excellence. The star-studded event brought together top Ghanaian and international performers, including Mr. P, Fantan Mojah, and Kwabena Kwabena, making it a powerful celebration of African music and unity.
